Performance and Production

David Devries narrates Warrior King, book five of the Odyssey One series, and he gives a strong performance. The characters have that harder edge that was missing from the first few books in the series. David Devries also gives more emotional range than the previous narrator giving the characters a layer of depth missing before. The production is solid and that gives Warrior king a 4 out of 5.

Warrior King is the fifth installment in the Odyssey One series, in the aftermath of the Darsin attack on Earth Weston and the Odysseus are sent to scout the area looking for more signs of the Drasin or their handlers. The Empire is sending out their own force looking for the Drasin and to report on the Oather's. What will happen when these two meets.

Answer, not much

Evan Currie starts a new section of the Odyssey series with a new ship, new crew, and a new enemy. This really seems like half a book, at base the whole book is two patrols saw each other and fired a few shots then ran back to report. In the universe it is a significant event to be sure but not really novel worthy, I was left with that is it feeling. That being said the writing is good and the story is interesting but really suffers from what feels like an incomplete story. 2 out of 5

Warrior King has all the components to be a good novel but suffers from a lack of story development. The production is solid, the performance by David Devries gives the characters depth and emotional range, and the writing by Evan Currie is entertaining and gripping but nothing really happens in the Novel. I am giving it 3 out of 5.
